A New Way to Get Funding for Your Startup: VC Summer Camp

June 30, 2008

This week, I wrote a fun story for BusinessWeek about the summer entrepreneurship program at Highland Capital Partners. For the second summer in a row, HCP is inviting a bunch of aspiring entrepreneurs to the firm for 10 weeks, giving them a $7,500 stipend, free office space and access to their powerful networks.

Two firms from last year’s class actually got funding: Affine Systems and Paragon Lake.

Only a handful of VC firms are running programs like this. But as word gets out about the results and impact I suspect we’ll start to see more firms doing it

Check out the story here.
